From Fast Moving Animals

Watch it

Editing to sound can be either very successful or boring. Tom did a lovely job with his cutting here. The density and the ambiguity all feel appropriately stifling

The Sony Ad

Watch the commercial

Watch the behind the scenes

I saw this commercial last year and was amazed. I thought only could a powerful advertiser afford the stunt of dumping several thousand super balls down a San Frisco street (I actually thought is was CG). So I was amelt in my feelings for this work, again, simple and so beautifully cool.

Then I saw the making of. I know the reason for tv is to make money, but I would have loved if someone would have said something about the arresting images as opposed to the idea of selling a TV (which was lost on me frankly).

Yes, I know, go hug a tree. But I do believe there is a place for art and commercial work. You can say the advert stuff to the client, but then (from my PRish side) sell the client willingness and THE ART to the public. Really! When I watched the making of video I felt duped, like getting emotional from a store bought card.

A music video for The Divine Comedy. Everyone once in awhile comes an idea that you think is so good you punch yourself in the face for not thinking of it yourself. Old magazine ads and matting. Simple, effective and wonderful.
